Personalized Accounts!

Any individual aged as from 16 years old has right to a bank account. In couple or single, we propose several options all adapted to your specific needs

  • The current bank account for the daily management of your incomes and expenses
  • The Saving account to put some money aside. It generates interests all through the year.
  • If you are in couple, and are willing to manage your incomes with the same bank account, we offer the opportunity to have a joint account. It can also be opened between other persons linked in several manners (with or without family link)

Before opening a bank account, a bank has some minimum checks to do, in order not to engage its responsibility:

  • The individual’s identity (name, surname, date and birth location, nationality) with an official and valid identity document along with photograph and signature (ex: national identity card, passport for non-residents)
  • His legal capacity: he must be of age (or an emancipated minor) and must be able to perform by himself acts such as the opening and use of a bank account.
  • His Home address by asking for an address proof (ex: localization plan)

Necessary Documents

Based on your individual situation, the list of necessary documents to open a Private Individual Bank account, will be different.

For Employees:

  • A Valid National Identity Card
  • A Valid Passport for non-residents
  • An income justification, such as last payslip, proof of retirement pension’s payment or a student card for students
  • Valid attendance certificate for civil servants
  • A 4*4 recent photograph
  • Your house ‘s localization plan
  • Minimum Opening Deposit: None

For Unemployed:

  • A Valid National Identity Card
  • A Valid Passport for non-residents
  • Photocopy or any working certificate
  • Your house ‘s localization plan
  • A 4*4 recent photograph
  • Minimum Opening Deposit: 100 000 F CFA

For Non-resident customers:

You live in France or elsewhere, you need a bank account to transfer money to your relatives, to manage your expenses during your stays? Book an appointment with a Société Générale Cameroun consumer adviser, and manage together all the paperwork related to the opening of your online banking account.

If the Customer is Cameroonian:

  • Identity Proof (Valid Cameroonian National Identity card or passport + valid resident permit)
  • Address proof of less than 3 months (electricity or telephone bill, etc.)
  • Income proof (last payslip or recent tax notice or welfare revenues proof or official proof of other revenues
  • 2 ID Photographs (2 photos per person for a joint-account).

If the customer is not Cameroonian:

  • Valid Passport
  • Address proof of less than 3 months (electricity or telephone bill, etc.)
  • Income proof (last payslip or recent tax notice or welfare revenues proof or official proof of other revenues
  • 2 ID Photographs (2 photos per person for a joint-account).
